Feeding Mini Cockapoo Puppies from 2 Months Old

Feeding Mini Cockapoo Puppies from 2 Months Old

Updated August 2, 2026. This article provides general education and does not replace an individualized feeding plan from your veterinarian.

There is no single cup or gram amount that is correct for every 2-month-old Mini Cockapoo. The right daily amount depends on the food’s calorie density, the puppy’s current weight, expected adult size, growth rate, activity, treats, and body condition.

Choose an appropriate puppy diet

Use a complete and balanced food formulated for growth and appropriate for the puppy’s expected adult size. Keep the package, lot information, and feeding guide, and bring the product information to the puppy’s first veterinary visit.

Set the starting daily amount

  1. Start with the manufacturer’s daily feeding guide for the puppy’s current weight and age.
  2. Confirm the starting amount with your veterinarian, especially if the puppy is very small, underweight, overweight, unwell, or changing diets.
  3. Measure the full daily amount accurately and divide it into three or four meals according to the veterinarian’s plan and the puppy’s routine.
  4. Count training food and treats as part of the day’s intake rather than adding them without adjustment.

Monitor and adjust

Weigh the puppy regularly and watch body condition, stool quality, appetite, energy, and growth. Package directions are a starting point, not a guarantee. Ask your veterinarian to adjust calories if weight gain is too fast or too slow, ribs become difficult to feel, the waist disappears, or the puppy is not thriving.

Make diet changes gradually unless a veterinarian directs otherwise. Keep fresh water available throughout the day. Contact a veterinarian promptly for repeated vomiting or diarrhea, marked lethargy, refusal to eat, abdominal swelling, suspected toxin exposure, or other concerning signs.
